I had just purchased a used recumbent bike, and stopped by Planetary Cycle Houston to get the peddles changed and a cycle computer added. Jason met me at the door, and took the bike right back to the shop area. While it was being worked on, Sebastian walked me through all the options available for computers, then suggested one of the Lezyne models, based on my needs. Then he took the time and entered all my personal data and set it up, so all I had to do was turn it on. And cudos to the tech team! Even though I didn't ask for it, they did a quick inspection of the bike to make sure it was safe to ride. I will be a return customer.
While I have not purchased a bicycle here (but own 4) I will when the time comes. I have only been here for odd little stuff 4 times in the past couple years (maybe spent $30-40 total) but have always been treated great. Yesterday I went in for a small piece of a child trailer that the kids played with and lost (quick release nut). Justin (or Josh) helped me fast with great service and a smile. A+ place for sure.
Went in for a gear repair and the owner, Adam, happened to be the person who helped me. He personally and immediately took my bike to the back, assessed the issue, and quickly fixed the problem. Though no parts were involved, it was an important repair that allowed me to get back on my bike. I would have gladly paid for the work done to fix my bike, but Adam kindly would not charge me. This happens to be our neighborhood bike shop and this is the type of friendliness we always experience here. My kids like to try out the bikes (as they did after the repair) and the staff consistently has been patient and nice to them and to me. Thank you, Adam, for running a great store with wonderful and knowledgeable employees. Clearly they follow your example!

Loved shopping at Planetary Cycles. New-ish, getting back to cycling after many years of being a couch potato. Didn't feel judged for my fitness level, or pushed to buy something more than I needed. I stated my budget, and Brittany (Sales Person of the Year!!!) put me on a couple of bikes to try, asked for my feedback on feel, and fit me for the right bike. Finding the right gear makes all the difference on motivation and follow-through, for me, anyways. I've been out on the bike every day since I bought it, and I'm loving it! The attention they gave me during the custom fitting was awesome, including the pointers on riding for comfort while riding. I won't hesitate to go back when I'm ready to upgrade! I have all the confidence that these guys won't try to upsell me just for the money, but will find the right ride for me!
