My experience was great with CLC Roofing of Houston. I actually got 5 estimates and their pricing was near the bottom for my roof. They seemed much more professional than the other roofing companies that came out to give me a bid however. The are also a platinum preferred roofing contractor so that made me feel more secure as well.
Hurricane Ike came and wrecked our roof. No so visible but leaking like a sieve. CLC came and made it right--almost perfect. We have a very complicated roof with shingles, metal, tile and flat areas with tar--and many skylights. It is a big roof.
Advice: if you are interested in CLC provides service for you, you want to make sure it can do the job and make sure the job can be done before you pay the full contract.
I have attempted to call CLC six times since the holiday weekend. I have been promised a call back each time. So far no response. A local roofer took me up on the roof and showed me loose and exposed nails and detailed the many potential leaks I could look forward to. Avoid this company at all costs.
This was the third roofing company we called to help us fix some leaks on our storage facility roof. At first, we were satisfied because when I called the office, the lady who answered said she would have one of the roofers call us. He did that same day, and he was here the next day and did some patch work. We still had some leaks after that, so I called him to come back, which he did. The problem still did not get resolved after that second time, so I called him back on his cell and left a message. A week passed, and I still never got a return phone call or nothing. Another couple of weeks passed, still leaving a few messages, but still no call back. Understanding that this guy may have just been busy, I called the office again to ask if someone else can be sent out. The lady said she would have someone else call us that same day, but a week has passed and we have not heard from anyone. I guess I will just have to look for a fourth company now.
They were fast, professional and stayed within the insurance estimate. I was not entirely satisfied later, however, with how the different roof areas were "blended" together and I got a small leak some weeks later.
In essence they stood behind their work without complaint. They made sure every skylight was completely sealed, they matched my many different roof types together and they cleaned up well. I was very impressed with their Houston manager who seemed honest, thorough and accesible and with a good crew.
As of July 2nd 2010 we have a major leak into the bedroom.
A good crew came two days later and worked for two days straight to make sure all the "edges" met together in a watertight seal. They repaired and repainted the small ceiling stain completely. It now all looks beautiful with no further leaks through a couple of heavy downpours---and no charge!
I just read the review by Marie, written on Oct 24, 2009. We had the same experience as Marie has and worse, CLC charged $3,000 and left a leaking house. The fact is that this is a one man company and can probably do simple patching job. When the problems do not get solved, he cannot do much any more.
I called and they came back with no questions asked--except where is the leak? They spent two hours on the roof going over every edge and their Houston manager then told me that he believed more work was needed to make it perfect. He actually apologized for not seeing it the first time out! Priceless.
CLC replaced our roof after Hurricane Ike. Repairs were completed in December 2008 for just under six thousand dollars. Nails went right through the roof and shattered the wood underneath the overhang.
