My wife was recovering from surgery in her hotel room. A large bouquet of flowers was sent to her and the front desk called her and let her know that they would be bringing them up. An hour later my wife called them asking where it was. They said that they would be bringing them up. An hour after that I had to go down to the front desk and demand the package. Their excuse was that their bell boy had been busy.... for 2 hours. I asked for the manager but conveniently he had "just stepped out." We are on day 2 of a week long stay for the treatment of a chronic illness. We are going to need many more visits to Houston hospitals, guess we're we won't be staying? The only thing that has kept them above 1 star is the excellent quality of their room service.
Staff is wonderful! Rooms are nice (they are currently working on a renovation). Galleria area is congested and rowdy. Anyone can walk in off the street and easily access hotel elevators. Street facing rooms are loud (think busy metro area s). Gym is minimal. Bathrooms small and outdated. I would not stay here again.
I was there for a tech workshop featuring Ansible! The meeting room was nicely furnished and the parts of the hotel I got to see were well maintained. They kept the temperature at a good level although the air conditioner was a bit noisy. The hotel staff re-stocked our drinks and snacks frequently without being disruptive. The food they served at lunch was excellent! The salad had all kinds of fancy add-ins and the wraps were tasty and not too heavy. I would gladly attend another conference here!
Parking is horrible! Have lots of places, just blocked off so you can't get to them. :( the rest of the experience has been great. Rooms large and clean, quiet. Friendly staff, elevators only have buttons on outside, kind of weird, but nice once you figure it out. Parking is the only problem, because they have it blocked off. Staying 6 nights. Not just a one time parking problem. No microwave.
Great location. Convenient to just about everything. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was nice and roomy. Front desk staff professional and courteous. Great view from my 12th floor room.
