I was thoroughly impressed by their staff’s politeness and willingness to assist. I have not been to any consulate yet that has such great mannerisms and such wonderful customer service. Their attitude would actually make people want to visit Spain. They set a wonderful example of your country for others.
The next available appointment is in 53 days, so that's pretty terrible. They're open 4 hours a day. That is seriously absurd! (The US embassy in Madrid is open 9 hours a day, for comparison.)
Very Professional our appointment was as scheduled. Very helpful explained what they needed, since we needed just one more document, so we went home to Dallas got it put together and translated then sent Express Mailed it to them. Had a very pleasant experience (our appointment was last of May) !
I would like to convey my special thanks to Ms Ana Martin and her team for the exemplary customer service and I have received every time.
This consulate has no empathy for Spanish citizens. They despise them out of pure bureaucratic arrogance. I am a Spanish citizen. I contacted this consulate a week before my business trip to Houston to get a document notarized. This should take 5 or 10 minutes at most. They could not find me a spot despite the fact that I told them that I don't leave in a city with Spanish consulate, and that if I don’t get that done that day I would be force to ask for another appointment, which, because I don’t leave in Houston, means losing one day of work and spending $300 or more in a plane ticket plus perhaps hotel night. Really, is this the service we expect and pay for? Maybe, it would serve of some sort of consolation to my compatriots that this consulate is terrible with everyone. I have heard from an American friend that dealing with this consulate is truly a nightmare.
Last summer I tried to ask them about several doubts I had with the visa requirements, and they copied and pasted responses from the exact document I wanted clarification on. (At least 10 days later.) In one case, they specifically told me the opposite of what I was supposed to do.
Very professional and extremely helpful in applying for my visa. My appointment and visa processing were lightening fast and very courteous. Would give 5 stars except some visa information such as necessary apostilles etc was NOT on the visa list and only found out after an incredible amount of emails asking questions, also they book up a month in advance at least (which is a regular thing for years...so they should probably add another government worker) and even background checks for countries I haven't lived in for 4 years have to have a time stamp of less than 3 months old which is a little extensive for a student visa considering I have a passport proving I haven't stepped foot in those countries for years and a background check post dated past my departure should suffice. Grateful documents don't have to be translated so they are not as strict as some Spain consulates, so definitely 4 stars.
