The first thing I noticed was the exterior (obviously), walking up to a dismal entry that filled me with sadness and a deep hope that this place might just be bad on the outside. Unfortunately it was worse on the interior, the first thing you notice upon entry is the smell. Opening the door greeted me with a myriad of odors from poorly kept mammals, birds, and reptiles. Futher into the store the aquariums were unimpressive to say the least, they were dirty with little to no visible filtration and very little thought had been put into the habitats of the tank inhabitants (many were bare with no hides). Add to this that many of the tanks were being aerated by a single O2 cylinder in the center of shop (which seems very dangerous). The staff seemed inattentive and took me a while to pick out of the few other people in this shop. As I spent more and more time in the shop I kept noticed cats, of various conditions, freely wandering. Do not shop here, it's possibly the worst shop I've visited
John the owner has the very BEST prices in all of Houston. I've tried so many only to find, he will do better every single time.
This store has great prices, selection, quality and the owner knows his stuff. It's like a down home spot
The smell is from all the aquariums & they keep it warm for health of fish. I enjoyed my helpful staff
