Today I was there for lunch. The service and food were excellent. Angel and David, the managers, were extremely friendly and helpful. The server Tristan was very nice and explain each of dishes. The manager suggested a trio dessert that was delicious!! Please see the pictures below. We will definetly come back soon. Kudos to the team !!
You have to try their friend chicken and waffles (fried to perfection!).
The wait time was short, we were seated right away. The atmosphere just transforms you to a different place. The staff were very nice. They initially were not too fast with refilling water, but later they got that taken care of. Overall, great experience.
You can eat South African food without leaving Houston, Texas. I've been to Peli Peli for Brunch several times and the food is always awesome. Today, I tried lunch and it was excellent. It came with two courses as part of Houston Restaurant Weeks. First, I had the bacon wrapped chicken. The bacon was crisp and cooked to perfection, which is great because many times some places don't always cook the bacon through. This bacon was cooked and crisp. I also had the flavors of South Africa steak trio in a butter sauce with potatoes and spinach. I tried the Cape Cod Cucumber Martini. It's excellent. The service is always good and the staff makes it a point to greet you when you walk in the door.
I also love that the restaurant has a nice salt scrub to use in the bathroom while you wash your hand. It's an excellent end to your dining experience.
We dined with friends and loved this restaurant! Great quality of Indian, Asian, & African fusion, great taste! Enough food for lunch the next day. Server, Andy, described food options & made great recommendations! Packed restaurant on Sat night and food was prepared very quickly.
Incredible dining experience across the board! I would recommend Peli Peli to all as a must try! From gracious and kind wait staff to perfectly cooked and seasoned food, the meal was perfection! Everyone loved the food, and that says a lot with a picky ten year old, two people with food sensitivities who are highly critical of their food, and one non adventurous eater. Everyone left full and eager to return. Definitely one of Houston's best restaurants in terms of menu selection, bold flavors, execution of cooking, and ambiance. Our server, Charity, made us feel welcome and important and made sure our dining experience was top notch. My only caution is to save room for the dessert, because it's unbelievably good!
