One of the best places to eat in Houston. Not all Landry's restaurants are great but this is one of their best. It's not cheap but not outlandishly expensive either. You will be satisfied.
First time here and what a nice Surprise! Tucked away off of Memorial and Westcott! Beautiful, fun atmosphere. The waitstaff could be quicker in taking orders and delivering drinks, but they were busy...The only downside is we had a reservation for 4 at 9 pm. It was 9:45 and we were still sitting outside in the back, although entertaining with drinks and music playing, Houston's weather is hot and muggy. We decided to go ahead and just sit there because the hope of getting a table inside was fading. Make sure when making a reservation, you tell them you would like to have your table at the reserved time, not an hour later.
Ribeye steak... Wow. The depth of flavor was amazing. Ordered it cooked medium, it was cooked perfectly. Never had steak this good before. Also ordered truffle butter to top off the steak. Also ordered a side of broccoli which was huge and good for sharing. Broccoli didn't have a lot of seasoning which was nice because the steak already had so much flavor and needed something to act as a palate cleanser between bites.
I will probably not return unless my health improves. This restaurant is VERY unfriendly to mobility challenged patrons: no elevators, steep stairs both outside and in; restrooms only on very high second level or on lower levels. The hostess started to escort us to our table, but was able immediately to find us another table that didn't involve stairs, although she HAD noticed my cane. We were planning to use the Houston Restaurant Weeks reduced prices, but had to ask for that menu. You The service and the quality of the food were all we could have asked for, though, with tender and properly cooked filets, exquisite cream of mushroom soup, and fantastic cheesecake dessert. It's a beautiful but but not very accessible setting!
I attend during restaurant week, and absolutely loved the atmosphere for a nice date night. Prices are about what I would expect for a restaurant of this caliber. The service was great! We even closed out inside, and had a round of drinks at the Blue Bar. I was honestly a little disappointed in the rib-eye, and my girlfriend felt the same about the lamb especially for the price. I was a Del Frisco's last week, and the rib-eye was much better as it was not smothered in mushrooms and sauce. My girlfriend also thought they went overboard on the béarnaise on the lamb. Overall we were happy to give this restaurant a shot, but considering all the great options in Houston we will be going elsewhere before returning.
