The food was nothing special but nothing was bad either.
I think if there had been just one or two more people behind the main bar for the first two hours of the party, the problem would have been alleviated, even if all one of those people did was wash the glasses. When things were at their height, that became a bottleneck in the flow of the work, and bartenders, whose skills were needed taking and filling drink orders, had to stop and wash glasses, which anyone could have done. Moving glasses to and from the kitchen wouldn't have worked either, because the main bar is an island and moving racks of glassware through the crowd would have been dangerous.
It's a wonderful place... Good music, great burgers and cold
Company I work for hosted a massive party here. The person who chose it told us they had been talking to other venues in the area, but settled on the Hard Rock because the manager was so awesome to work with. And he was. All through the event, he was pleasant and helpful, as was every member of his staff. They kept their good humor all through the evening and were an instrumental part of the event's success.
We will be back.
Food was good. The house band was AWESOME! (I had no voice the morning after from screaming along to the selection of classics from the 80's. I'm sure I'm not the only one.) The game was on over the bar which kept the sports fans happy while those who wanted to dance had plenty of room to do so in the back of the restaurant.
Our waitress was fantastic and and gave above average service for a chain restaurant.
The last time we visited on a wenesday and we were really disappointed. The place was hot. It seems they had air conditioning problems The gentleman that took the order was all sweat and smell bad. The beer was hot and I didn't like the food. I don't know what happened to this place it used to be good. Sorry but I love to visit these restaurants in all the cities and this is my fourth time i have been there and seems was not a good day. I do recommend get better waitress cleanness is important on these jobs.
Bottom Line: Highly recommend the Hard Rock in Houston to anyone looking to host a similar event.
At first glance, the Hard Rock may seem too small to host an event for several hundred people, but they have the option of closing off most of the patio outside, which doubles the available floor space. It also provides a place for people who want to have a conversation to escape the music inside. The patio is actually three separate spaces: two small ones near the doors of the Hard Rock, and a large one down a flight of stairs. All in all, it's a really great setup.
Our family stopped here to get some dinner before a show at the Hobby Center. It was only a 5 min walk from the Hobby Center.
The only downside was the wait time for drinks, which at the height of the party was between 15 - 20 minutes. This is in no way a dispersion on the bar tending staff. They were all moving at 100+ mph for all 4 hours of the party and doing a stellar job. I saw one of the ladies take orders from four different people, each with multiple drinks in their orders, and sling them back out at light speed without a single error or spill.
Four weeks after Harvey and Bayou Place is coming back to life. We stopped in to Hard Rock for a quick bite on a Saturday night. No wait at all! This is a much better place than the Aquarium on a weekend night to eat out with friends and family. Great food, great service(thanks to Danielle!) and great milkshakes. Sign up for rewards and get a free dinner on your birthday too!
