My first time at The Dump today. AT FIRST as I walked in I seen tags with market price and The Dump price. I just had come from Gallery Furniture and I noticed the really high market price and the Dump price was average price so I was disappointed at first. But....... as I looked around I noticed ALLOT OF GREAT DEALS, great quality, and noticed allot of stuff was American made, the sales people are not pushy, and will make sure if you are happy with the furniture and will ask if you have gave it a good look over. Some of the deals I seen was just amazing and hard to believe and gave it a good look over and was just amazing due to being last one. NOW CAUTION !!!!!!!! Some of the great deals you see might be due to little rips, marked, or some kind of small barley visible defects. Which I felt was odd cause they have a clearance section and another section that are discounted due to not having sets along with the item for sale but noticed some still had small flaws but was feeling confused why they had slightly flawed furniture on the main floor. It just might be there isn’t enough room. So just be cautious if you see a extremely low price give it a good look over cause the tag doesn’t tell you something is wrong with it but if you ask for an additional discount due to the defect they will tell you that’s why it’s marked down so low. Some items on the floor you can purchase new, not that the stuff on the floor isn’t new but you can buy items that are in the back wrapped and ready to ship or be picked up. Delivery is $149 for anything below $3,000 and if you want it delivered that weekend go Friday morning to purchase if not it won’t be delivered till the next weekend. The Dump is only open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.
In my lifetime I've probably written a total of four or five surveys but felt inclined to provide feedback. We had a fantastic end to end experience. Several sales consultants assisted us, all were very knowledgeable and not a single one of them attempted to pressure us into purchasing anything. We ended up working primarily with James Peng and he helped us with all closing processes including scheduling delivery. James was extremely busy helping other customers but we never felt rushed when we were working with him. Whatever you are paying James Peng, it's not nearly enough. We'll be back and more importantly, we'll send our friends and neighbors your way. Thank you for the no pressure no hassle shopping experience!
The Dump had a large selection of couches and we were more than happy with our sales associate and service throughout our purchase. They went above and beyond what they needed to for our situation. We would recommend friends and family to purchase furniture there.
I made a large order and got free delivery for all of it plus no interest financing for 26 months. That combined with very competitive prices, we were able to afford to re-do our entire downstairs. Loved our sales associate (Bryan from Beaumont!) who was attentive and really helpful with helping me match colors and pick coordinating pieces. Delivery was on time and very professional. One piece of my sectional had the power cord damaged on delivery and they pointed it out to ME and loaded it back on the truck. I'm expecting the new piece in a few days. They unboxed everything, assembled all the furniture, and put everything where I needed it to go. With the selection they had, I'm very very pleased with our experience.
Recent purchase at the Dump was a terrible experience. My daughter, a disabled veteran in San Antonio, just bought a new home and needed a table and entertainment center. I picked up the items at the Dump in Houston and took it to my daughter in San Antonio. Upon opening the box we quickly determined it was the wrong item. Evidently they did not have what she bought in stock, so they substituted a lower priced item (but charged her for the more expensive item). We promptly called and got a complete run-around. I just spoke with the Store Manager and he was rude, and will only replace it with the right item if I pick up the wrong one in San Antonio, bring it back to the store in Houston, and then take the right one back to San Antonio. He was very arrogant and said it was a mistake on their part but that there wasn't much they could do to rectify the situation as they sell at low prices and don't have enough margin to fix issues like this one. I let him know I have bought a significant amount of furniture from them in the past and they have lost a customer. His reply summed it up -- He said "I have many customers tell me they won't be back, but they do usually come back because of the pricing". This will not be the case with us...we are DUMPING the Dump.
