The atmosphere here was warm and inviting, until we sat down at a wobbly table which the server fixed by stuffing napkins under the leg. We ordered calamari which was completely tasteless and even had a couple of giant batter cubes disguised as calamari in it along with a dish of sauce that contained about a tablespoon of sauce. The egg rolls were small already and then they cut them in half to make it appear like we were receiving more. They were served with two small pieces of lettuce and again a tablespoon size cup of dipping sauce. We went ahead and skipped having dinner because the appetizers were exactly the opposite of appetizing. And along with that, they were overpriced. I don't see this place sticking around for long especially in the Montrose neighborhood where people expect more.
Nice atmosphere but the pho had too much cinnamon. It overpowered the meal.
I ordered togo while at work today and had to write this review. I ordered over the phone, very polite service can't complain there. Have my coworker pick up the food and never have I been so disappointed. I ordered lean beef pho. The soup is there, the noodles look good, and the beef is RAW. I think, there must be some mistake right? My poor coworker goes back and they say oh, you're supposed to heat up the soup really well to cook the beef. Um, what? The soup is nowhere near hot enough to cook the beef at this point, what do you want us to do, throw it in the microwave? Sorry I expected cooked food. Will not be ordering here again, so disappointed to have paid so much for such a sorry experience. Definitely check your food before leaving this restaurant when ordering togo so you aren't disappointed as well.
They moved from the Kelvin-"Village" after 22 yrs. The food was great. Love the hot & sour soup. No liquor license yet. I liked it. I would suggest to upgrade to cloth napkins. Excellent service.
