We love coming here for breakfast and lunch! The owners are amazing and always greet us personally. Both inside and outside of the cafe is dog friendly...so much so that the owners will often come out and give our dog water and a snack. Very relaxing environment with large chairs and a comfortable old world feel. We always come with an appetite since the plates are covered in food with lots of extra fruit. Lots of great latte and mocha options. And do not even get us started on their desserts.
We love this place! Very family friendly with a kid room in back and eclectic decor. The food is fresh and the menu offers lots of healthy options. The breakfast portions are huge, so much fresh fruit! The kind owner is always there and often brings patrons baked goods (scones, cupcakes, cookies) on the house. The Heights is lucky to have Maryam's.
Been here twice and loved it. I love bringing my family here when they're in town. They came in a few weeks ago and we sat and ate for quite a while. We asked them to package up our leftovers and they were sweet enough to include a free pastry along with everything. We love the coffee here and everything I've ever ordered has been fresh, hot, and delicious. Everyone here seems lovely. I don't know if English is the first language of everyone who works here, which may cause some confusion with orders and prices. But, that shouldn't matter as they are lovely people and this is our favourite cafe. It's a wonderful treat!
I had the smoked salmon sandwich and it was light, flavorful, and delicious. The bread was hearty and the egg on top was perfectly poached. The chef was behind the register and is charming and informative. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.
Don't even bother going here. They overcharge you and when you ask for an itemized receipt, they say it'll take 10 min to produce... and then you figure out that they charged you for sides that you didn't request, upcharged you for a fruit bowl (that they say is organic to charge you more - but how can you prove it?) that you wanted that was only $5, coffees and teas are not priced on their menu so they just charge whatever they want to charge you, and when you ask them about the overcharges, they just look at you. No customer service. Save yourself. Learn from these reviews and their yelp reviews. Unfortunate that this place is on an amazing street with great vendors - they just lost a paying customer.
