The aquarium is pretty nice. It is small and has far less exhibits than most that I have been to but overall for the price it isn't bad. It was only $12 a person and free for children under two. My one year old had a blast looking at all the cool fish and playing in the water outside the aquarium after.
We purchased ten anyway, since it was still cheaper, and she only gave us nine wristbands. What? We paid for ten. So we asked: If you aren't going to discount the rate and we paid for the ten bands why aren't you giving them to me? She said she wouldn't give it to us because we were going to give it to someone. Yeah, it's a paid ticket we're going to use it. Why does it matter if we give it to someone? They already have the money.
That said, the aquarium was small and the animals were cramped. They had a parrot who was in a 2-3 foot wide tube with one tree to sit on. I doubt this bird could even spread its wings. This bird is probably in that tube for 12+ hours a day. All the floors were painted and slippery even though most of us were wearing tennis shoes. We had a fine time overall, but I'll never bother going back. Waste of gas & money.
The Aquarium itself is fairly small but has some unique attractions. I haven't seen white Tigers anywhere in the USA before. They are majestic animals and are a great part of the aquarium. The rest of the aquarium is good but a little on the smaller side. The rates are reasonable and have great value. This is also a good place to bring children.
Really atrocious customer service. We called a week ahead to ask about a group rate for a party of nine, the lady on the phone said although it was typically ten she would arrange for an exception and allow us the group rate anyway for nine people. When we got there the woman at the ticket stand absolutely REFUSED to accept this or call the woman we spoke to on the phone.
Pros: cheap, family fun, children's water sprinklers, colorful for the learning eye to catch
This place was super cool for kids and adults. It is so much more than an aquarium. It has rides and a train outside, a wonderful restaurant that is surrounded by the aquarium so you can view the wildlife floating by your table as you enjoy your brunch or lunch. The have rescued tigers and other animals. There is a bar too. It has a neat "touching" room where kids "of all ages" can pet / feel some of the aquarium animals. We have a very nice aquarium in Baltimore but this one is much more interactive. I would recommend it for an interesting tourist activity or just for lunch.
Cons: small, compact, not many exhibits, a lot of people to maneuver around
We asked for a manager at this point and she literally said "He's right over there if you want to talk to him." To shoo us away. We had to find a different employee just to call a manager for us. The manager was polite and offered a refund or the band, so we took the band. We just wanted what we paid for.
Always have a great time coming here. The all day adventure pass is highly recommended. The White Tigers and Stingrays were the highlight!
