While on the call I looked up another police station and got the confirmation it is open 24-hours. I went there about half an hour later and managed to file the report!
All they're good for is writing tickets and harassing people can't catch real criminals I almost got killed by gun in my workplace the suspect was identified they looked for him for 2 weeks then gave up
Beautiful building, one of the Houston Police Departments best looking police stations! The guy that designed it must have put a lot of thought into the layout and design, and is probably really good looking!
He bluntly said he cannot help me and I should try his suggestion.
On a Saturday afternoon I went there to report a hit-and-run incident that took place two days prior within the city. Before that I had called the HPD number and was advised to go to the nearest police sub-station to file the case. After a 40-mins drive I was standing in front of the only officer in the front desk handling phone calls and walk-in civilians. First he made me sit about 15 minutes. Then he called me up but from the beginning he tried to find ways to avoid taking in the report. He suggested there are other HPD offices closer to my place but he found none. Then he suggested my going back one and half hours to the location of the incident and calling the non-emergency number so that a police officer can be dispatched there. I explained to him the effort I have already put in and the additional effort required to do what he suggested compared to the minor damage my vehicle has suffered. Regarding the instruction I got calling HPD number he disregarded saying "wrong information given by civilian staff"!
I walked outside and called the HPD direct number again and the person answered repeated the previous instructions I had received and after hearing what the officer had told me exclaimed "that officer is lying!".
My experience tells me the culture at this police station is not serving the community but doing whatever to avoid work!
