Every time we come here my dog throws up! The water is full of green stuff which I believe may not be good for our dogs to be swallowing when swimming... he puked green stuff today... you can see green liquids run through the drains... in the mud. They really need to make sure the place for our babies is sanitary. Too beautiful of a place to be like this.
This park is on the banks of Buffalo Bayou and somehow people expect it to be open all the time and clean. Where exactly do you think all of the runoff from storms go? Where do you think all the trash and hazmat goes when it is washed down the drainage from the streets? And yet people continue to let there dogs jump in that nasty pond thinking it is somebody else's fault their dog got sick. Wake up.
If the weather has been dry, this place is great. But it spends a lot of time closed due to flooding. The water also needs to be continuously flushed out or it gets stagnant.
Best park inside the loop even though it's always muddy. Prepare to wash your dog before leaving.
This is in a really great area and my dog always has a great time. There is a small and large dog area both with enough room for dogs to run around and both have a water feature. The only cons are that it is sometimes hard to park along Allen Parkway, and it gets really muddy and even can get totally submerged after it rains.
