Iconic Houston gay Bar recently and nicely remodeled. Great DJ Joe Ross and nice dance floor. Can get very busy on Saturdays and special events.
Went on a Saturday night and it was dead. Paid cover (which was only $7) for a boring evening.
Awful experience. They're rude and aggressive.
Great food + Great music = Phenomenal time!
However, like I and other reviewers have mentioned before they are rude and belligerent. Can't let people have a good time. Avoid this place ! Never going back.
Not to be rude, but this is really unacceptable to pay cover to get in then to be exited with rudeness. Your little bouncer with the fro and glasses located at the stairway on the first floor from the 2nd floor tonight 9/9/17 is beyond rude. It was not even 2am and he is telling us to get the hell out. His reason was my friend was drunk, which she was not. He then tells us that he has better looking friends then us and slams the door as we exit. Very Rude. As a courtesy, sober CUSTOMER, I will never return to your club due to the lack of professionalism.
Me and my friends gave this place a try despite some bad reviews. We went there on Friday night 10/20/2017. There was a $30 cover because it was the Mr. Gay night competition. We paid and went in then got us 3 drinks of double Vodka Ginger ale. The drink was okay. We were standing among the crowd and pretty much just enjoyed the show. Out of nowhere there was an old white guy who came to us and told us to move because we were in his way of watching the show then an old white lady who appeared to be his party came over and rudely told us to move? I was shocked because never in my life that I went to a gay bar watching a drag show and told to move out of somebody’s way. I mean if you can’t see the show sitting down you just need to stand up. We didn’t accept their rudeness order. About 1 minute later there was this guy who might be a security came out of nowhere and shouted to us from distance and approached to us violently and forcefully pushed us out of the club. One of my friends who was a girl got her right leg slightly injured because he push her against the stairways. We were not even tipsy let alone drunk. We were 100% sober. At that point we were frightened, confused, and embarrassed. We were harassed by a worker who works for the place that we paid to get in unreasonably and forcefully. We came to the entrance there were two police officers who were standing in front of the club. One officer’s name was CL Green and the other one was M. Colunga. As if we were not harassed enough by the worker when we were outside, these cops just rudely told us to get away without even asking us what was going on. I always thought that the cops supposed to protect their citizen and treat them fairly especially when something like that happens. So we called 911 to get more law enforcement involved. Not that we wanted to go back in the club. At this point we just wanted justice. It took about 20 mins for another 2 cops to arrive. These two other cops couldn’t be more helpless. They ended up telling us to talk to the other 2 cops who in first place already insulted us. I took my time to write this down not because I want anything out of this situation. I just want this case to be heard. We felt discriminated. We are paying taxes for these cops to protect us but all we received were insults. I never felt so scared and vulnerable standing next to the cops. Just because we are Asian or of other skin color does not mean we are not human. The workers and the cops were in other party’s interests just because the other people were white and rich? Is this society going back to a 100 years back? We needed to talk to the manager or owner but they didn’t even give us a chance or even listened to us. I cannot stress this enough that you guys should not even go to this club. Their treatment to the customers who paid money to keep their business going is disgusting and unacceptable.
Edit: I will say that when theres a crowd it's "popping" so you might have a really good night out. Went there when it was busy and it was pretty good.
