It's a very small museum. It holds themed exhibits and takes the first 100 entries. It was interesting and the people there are very nice.
Tiny nonprofit Museum that showcases local art including Elementary and high school students. Artwork changes monthly and the staff was very informative and friendly. It's always free admission but they do accept donations. And their main showcase is the Art Car Parade which is a Citywide event hosted the second Saturday of every October every year. Parking is extremely limited, like only 5 parking spots, and you cannot park in the gas station next door as they do enforce Towing. Great place if you are into eccentric local art. Again super tiny so don't over expect a lot.
Great organization ran by volunteers. They are always hosting events that support local artists. The staff are always very nice and inviting.
You won't see a museum like this anywhere else. They have gallery shows and have 3-4 Art Cars inside and usually a few parked outside. They frequently change the exhibits and cars. I take visitors here for something uniquely Houston. When exhibits contain "explicit" material they are shown in a separate gallery/room (with warnings for parents).
Great place run by awesome people. completely free to enjoy and has a good rotation of art cars and other installations to see. Make sure to tip these guys on your way out, its what keeps the doors open!
