I came here for dinner today because I've had this place bookmarked for awhile now.
I took off one star because he charged us $1.50 for water, but we got tap water. So I don't understand why?? Unless it costs money for the tap water.
The service was above average, the guy was friendly and he kept checking up on us.
average compared to other Venezuelan restaurant but it is worth all the way. Service is great, very friendly, always open to talk and recommend new flavors or plates. 5+ stars!
This business is located right next to Maine-Ly Lobster. They have a very limited (maybe 6? Cars) parking behind the structure and 3-4 parking spots in front.
I ordered the lemonade based on the reviews. It was SO SWEET! Had a hint of sugar cane juice taste to it... The food was decently good! The appetizers were tasty, we got different flavors (cheese, turkey, Nutella, dolce de leche, plantain). The food I got was kind of bland, not much flavor and spices, but it was still good. My boyfriend ordered pita sandwich, it was a bit salty, but bearable.
Worth a try, I guess.
Without doubt the best Venezuelan restaurant I have found in the United States (I have tried in Houston, Dallas, Oklahoma, and Los Angeles). Best appetizers are the Tequeños (cheese, cheese + guava, and cheese+plantain). For main dish, my favorite is the Cachapa Pabellón (Corn meal, shredded beef, sweet plantains, black beans and cheese "de mano"). Also, do not forget to ask for the Cilantro sauce, it is wonderful. Arepas are the most popular dish. Plates are always made in the moment. Also they sell Venezuelan chocolate and sweets. Price is a little bit above (1 or 2 dollars more)
Order the tamale as an appetizer for 2, wash it down with brown sugar lemonade, and proceed to enjoy great Venezuelan dishes. You will stop and wonder if the food is seasoned with crack.
One of those few places that are not big in size, but enormously big in their customer service, excellent and delicious food. A cozy and pleasant place. 100% recommended.
The decoration of this place is ok. Nothing too special about it.
Cozy Venezuelan restaurant, excellent food, very tasty, Oh, there are not words for the Golfeados ... it makes me want to live in Houston. The service was great!!. I would definitely go back ...
