Thank you Dr. Yankelove, you are a blessing for many of us!
Addition on 5/26/17: I posted this review on 5/14/17. I received a bill from Berkeley Eye Center a week later dated for 5/15/17 for a Contacts Lens Exam, which was supposedly provided on 1/9/17. As I doubt this is a coincidence, they want me to pay for an exam, which I didn't know occurred since I went in asking for them to solve my eye problem, because I wrote a negative review. Stay far away and find a professional establishment, which can take feedback and improve instead of being vindictive!
I highly recommend going to Dr. Yankelove. His staf is always very nice and helpful as well.
I had been seeing Dr. Yankelove for well over a decade when I went in complaining of blurred vision and redness around the iris of one eye, the latter of which had dissipated due to wearing only my glasses, at my annual visit. However, following an eye exam by his assistant, he determined no change to my prescription was needed. When questioned further about my visual disturbances, he ran some expensive test to look into my eye, which came back negative. He proceeded to refer me to have expensive neuropathology testing, indicating something was wrong with my brain and not my eye, which made me very concerned, especially since he said that if it was cancer, more symptoms would have shown up by now. While I was trying to process the curt interaction that casually referenced cancer, a man came in to tell me that because nothing was found by the tests, the insurance claim would most likely be denied and I would have to pay over a hundred dollars. I am a medical professional and have never heard of testing being denied because they came back negative so I protested and once I became very overwhelmed and visibly upset, he agreed to only put in charges for a general exam. I left feeling like all they wanted was my money and didn't care about my health.
I went to an optometrist a week later, who sat with me for close to 20 minutes, listened closely to my history and complaints, and viewed closely the many pictures I had taken of my eye. He too determined that my prescription didn't need to be changed, but explained how he thought I'd irritated my eye, which had healed, but recommended I use hydrogen peroxide eye solution to reduce any reoccurrence. I took that recommendation and have had no issues since except for the one time I had to use regular solution and the redness and blurred vision came back immediately. If you have no problems, Dr. Yankelove's lack of bedside manner is potentially acceptable, but based on my experience, my entire family and friends who previously went to see him, will never go back to Berkeley Eye Center. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for an eye specialist.
Great experience! The staff was wonderful and very professional. Dr. Yankelove did a great job with the procedure and the results are outstanding.

It's has been 3 years since Dr. Yankelove helped me see better after wearing glasses for over 25 years. Every time I think about how lucky I was to find him and I can't thank enough!
I was a patient before I had my lasik surgery and Dr. Yankelove was always very nice and professional. He is a great doctor. My lasik surgery is like a miracle!! He did a great job. I think he is one of the top doctors in his field.
God keep blessing you!
I had my eye cataract surgery done on both eyes after three surgeries on one eye and one for the second eye. The results were not as expected neither by Dr, Yankelove and myself.
