Good experience with Dr Varner. He knows the foot. However, when making an appointment make sure you see Dr Varner and not his PA. The front office will try to bait an switch you, and try to charge you as if you saw the Dr.
Now actually getting through to make an appointment may take two to three calls minimally. Forget about leaving a message...no one will call you back either!
Dr. Varner is excellent. He has a wonderful bedside manner. He makes you believe he has all the time in the world for you while in the exam room, taking time to answer questions and explain things.
Dr. Varner is by far the absolute best!! Thanks to him, I can walk again. He performed a complete ankle replacement after another doctor messed up which resulted in the complete loss of cartilage. His bedside manner is amazing and his office staff went above and beyond to assist me. I've had my new ankle for 4 years now and it's still going strong. Thanks again Dr. Varner, you truly are my personal angel!!
I had a great experience with Dr. Varner and his entire staff. They're the absolute best. I broke my heel bone -- one of the worst bones to break. Dr. Varner gave me fulsome and honest advice on the difficulty of the fracture and the road to recovery. He did surgery and fully repaired the bone. The man is an artist. I ride my bike and run a lot so I was very worried about how my injury would affect my lifestyle. After surgery, I was back on my bike within 2 months. I was able to run again about 4 months later, which is much better than I originally expected with such a horrible injury. Now, about 10 months later, I am able to do everything I could before the injury. Consider yourself lucky if you are able to get Dr. Varner. I would recommend him to anyone.
There is a reason he is the foot and ankle specialist for all of the major Houston athletes. Professional, efficient, caring, and most of all extremely good at what he does. Best doc in town.
