Called the IRS 3 weeks ago to make an appointment since somebody filed a false return under my name. Showed up today for my appointment that was scheduled for 10:30am it's currently 11:30am and I haven't been seen. There are still 5 people in front of me of which, most are walk ins. Apparently the appointment wasn't necessary. When I asked the front desk what the problem was he said they are "short handed". At least he was nice and understood my frustration but, couldn't do anything about it. Plan on taking 3 hours off work as you will wait 1-2 hours for your scheduled 30 min appointment.
When we arrived for our appointment, which we had scheduled 3 weeks earlier, Jose couldn't seem to find us in the schedule. After searching under several names and in different places and not finding out appointment he had us call the reservation number again. After finding out our appointment had been removed or deleted from the system (with no reason given), Foster did everything he could to try to fit us into the schedule. After being unable to do so, he called the manager, Lynette, to the front. She tried her hardest to find a time but they were already overscheduled for the day. She actually told us how everything should work and then advised us to proceed in a different, more expedient direction. Those three worked so hard to help us! We were very impressed! Thank you, again for everything!
I chose 1 because there's no 0. Is unbelievable! This people have NO RESPECT for their client's time. Seems like the people at front desk are tired to exist! Officers the same! I hope I will never have to comeback here! Huge nightmare! We got a letter to confirm ID and waited 7+ hours to be assisted!
The gentleman behind the counter said, "No send her up here, she might have a question". He says, " Yes I already answered her." He said, "No she still might have something to ask". Now I'm looking back and forth between the two confused as to what I should do. He waves me over. So I ask, "Are there any other locations that still take walk-ins?" He says, "No" and continues to ask what I actually need. He gives me my tax return transcripts and wage, income transcript for two years. He says, "Just an in case they ask for it you're prepared." Not only did he go above and beyond but I was out of there in less than 10 minutes!!! Who could ever say that about the IRS!? Now on to the rest of my errands for the day.
So I was dreading coming here after reading all the reviews I literally walked in and got what I needed in 3 minutes!!!! There were no lines and the front desk clerk told me it was appointment based only however he made an exception for me knowing that I needed my tax return transcript for school purpose s so he gave it to me right away. Very awesome people!!!!
I'm loving the IRS today!!! So they started this "seen by appt only" thing last year. Of course I didn't know. So I drive my happy self up there to get my tax transcripts for school. And...the security guard sent me away, with the appt line number. Of course I'm upset and I wore the disappointment all on my face.
