The thing that made the situation worse, was one dealer. Who had a huge mouth, was being a smart ass, while making many mistakes. He actually mucked the flop once. He had a huge ego, and wanted the center attention. Leaves me thinking, I should have gotten his name to post here. He's the main reason why I left. Middle aged guy, slicked back black hair, with a touch of grey.
Be carful, this place is a scam. There are a bunch of players whom are friends with the dealers. It results in the dealers bending the rules once in a while in the favor of their friends. I don't know, but it looks like they are afraid of them. Even the floor manager, does not intervene, even when he's brought aware of some of these faults. After playing a few times at this place, I have realize this and will never play here again. You have been warned.
The things I didn't like. The poker room is way over crowded. Very small poker tables, too many of them. So everyone is crammed up together. I had a person push my chair in, pushing my belly into the table, without any apologies. You're constantly going to be bumped and touched.
Pass if you like to wear flip flops! I was nicely dressed and turned away while people in rags could play because they had on shoes. PASS there are other options opening I don’t need this place to play
I didn't enjoy my time, it stressed me out. Seemed like it's a social club, where everyone is trying to impress others(due to the high class crowd.)I gave the remaining time cards in my pocket to the person next to me. He offered to pay me. I told him not to worry about it. I wouldn't ever waste my time here again. For true poker players that are on a grind. This place is not where you want to gamble.
I like the space and the location. Players that I have encountered have been friendly and courteous. Dealers are attentive and they do their best to accommodate people who do not like to get up from the table. I have heard of some rumours but always be careful when playing poker at any venue. I am not a professional but have played poker worldwide while serving in the USAF. Like Bob McNair, bringing pro football back to Houston, while poker never left I appreciate Post Oak Poker Club for hosting the games.
I play poker for a living. Played poker from Casinos in-between, Portland Meadows Poker, West Coast. To the Golden Nugget in Atlantic city. This venue looks nice. Seems like there is a high class crowd.
Best experience I've ever had from a poker club in houston. High end atmosphere, comfortable, and great dealers. Overall wonderful experience and will be coming back again soon.
